(As of. August 13th 2019)
As specified below, wheels (“wheel” or “product”) manufactured by Aftermarket Performance Express (“APEX,” (“us” or “we”) and purchased after August 12th 2019 are backed by a limited lifetime structural warranty and a one year limited finish warranty against manufacturing defects in material or workmanship. All wheels purchased prior to August 13th 2019 will remain at the previous limited two year structural warranty and limited one year finish warranty.
ELIGIBILITY
This warranty applies only to new APEX wheels sold directly by APEX or through an authorized APEX distributor, to the original retail purchaser (“you” or “purchaser”). The warranty is non-transferable, and immediately expires upon the original purchaser transferring title of a wheel. To the fullest extent recognized by the laws of the state where the purchaser purchased the wheels, our limited warranty defines the rights of the purchaser, and limit APEX’s liability, with regard to all warranty claims.
APEX reserves the right to deny any claim it determines in its sole discretion is false, incomplete or inaccurate, or where all eligibility requirements have not been met. Warranty requests must be submitted online at https://www.apexraceparts.com/support/warranty-request/ for review to receive a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. Claims cannot be submitted by phone or email. No products may be sent back for warranty claim without a valid RMA number. Warranty claims may not be submitted by a distributor on behalf of a purchaser. A copy of the original invoice may be required to be submitted as proof of purchase. The defective product must be returned prior to shipment of the replacement. To expedite the shipment of a replacement product, you may choose to pay for a new product at full price and then receive a full refund upon receipt of the defective product. No refund can be made in this situation if the exchanged product is not returned. All open RMA’s are valid for a maximum of 45 days from date of issue. If the wheel is not returned within that time frame then the purchaser will need to file for a new RMA as the old one will automatically expire. If a replacement wheel was purchased prior to returning the defective wheel then the defective wheel must be received within 30 days of receiving an RMA number or a refund cannot be issued. If the wheel arrives after 30 days but within 45 days then only a store credit can be provided. No returns under any circumstances can be accepted after 45 days without reapplying for a new RMA.
Warranty replacement products must be of the exact same specification as the original product. Specification is defined as the same design, diameter, width, offset, profile, bolt pattern, and finish. The part number of a replacement product may vary from the original as small revisions are made to wheels overtime which can affect the part number. Wheels that have been modified from their original specifications, such as altering the offset, center bore, barrel width, finish (by paint or powder coat), or changes/removal of the specifications engraved on the back of the wheel to make them unrecognizable, are not eligible for coverage.
Warranty claims for wheels that become discontinued after purchase will provide a store credit to use towards another currently available wheel valued at the original wheel’s purchase price, not to exceed MSRP. No credit will be provided for the difference in price if a wheel of lesser value is selected. Because the design and fitment differences between the original wheel and the newly selected replacement wheel may be so significant that it is impractical to mix them, the warranty applicant is given the option to purchase one to three additional wheels at 25% off MSRP. This offer is only valid where the original wheel is discontinued.
Warranty replacements for wheels that are out of stock will be treated as backordered if fulfillable within 120 days. If it is determined that new stock will not arrive within that time frame then the claim will be processed as a discontinued item unless the applicant accepts the additional wait.
Used, blemished, b-stock or other wheels identified by APEX from time to time are not covered by this warranty and are sold as-is. Wheels purchased through discounted group buys either though APEX or an authorized APEX distributor are eligible for this warranty unless specifically stated in the terms and conditions of that group buy.
APEX will cover the cost of reasonable ground freight in both directions for warranty claims shipped to and from the customer within the 48 mainland US states. Replacement wheels will be shipped by ground transportation. APEX is not responsible for the cost of expedited shipping. Customers in need of rushed replacement may choose to pay the difference in shipping costs to upgrade to expedited shipping. APEX will cover the cost of freight for the replacement unit to International customers and those located in Alaska and Hawaii, or other US territories, but the customer will be responsible for return shipping of the defective unit. International customers are responsible for any additional fees that may be charged such as customs and brokerage fees when receiving their replacement unit.
STRUCTURAL WARRANTY:
For wheels purchased after August 12th 2019 - Lifetime limited structural warranty
For wheels purchased before August 13th 2019 - Two year limited structural warranty
Except as specifically set forth below, APEX warrants that its wheels, when properly installed on its intended application, will be free from structural defects in material or workmanship under normal and reasonable use. APEX agrees, without charge, to repair or replace a wheel that fails during this limited warranty period because of defects in material or workmanship.
This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects already present in the wheels from the factory such as machining errors or defective material resulting in a cracked rim or spoke, a centerbore that is out of tolerance, a rim that is out of round, or visual blemish from improper machining.
This limited warranty does not cover any damage arising from the improper fitment for the intended vehicle, mishandling during transit, damage caused by tire mounting equipment, damage during vehicle installation, or otherwise caused by unintended use such as off-roading, going off the paved track surface, contact with other vehicles, impact with potholes, curbs, berms, barriers, objects in the road, or impact with other road and track hazards, or applications that exceed the wheel’s indicated load rating. Rim cracks or bends are not warrantable if there is a clear sign of impact that caused the damage. Warranted wheels are inspected upon receipt and any sign of abuse such as impact damage that could cause a failure would disqualify the claim and the wheel be returned at the customer’s expense.
Purchasers are directed to the APEX Wheel Installation Guidelines supplied with the wheel. Failure to comply with these instructions shall void this warranty.
Upon the purchase of our wheels, the purchaser assumes all costs involved with rebalancing, match mounting, and under car inspection in an effort to exclude all other possible causes of vibration other than one arising from defective wheel manufacture. If an APEX wheel is found to be defective then APEX is only responsible for replacement of it’s own defective item in addition to covering the cost of remounting/balancing associated with the individual unit in question, up to a maximum limit of $50 per wheel claimed. A copy of an official service invoice is required to redeem a credit for expenses incurred. APEX is not responsible for any other costs associated with servicing a warranty such as damage to any other part of a vehicle, event fees, travel costs, or other costs.
We are not responsible for damage caused by improper fitment. It is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that the wheel purchased for their vehicle will not cause damage to brake calipers, suspension parts, exterior fenders, inner fender liners, brake lines, ducting, fuel lines, or electrical lines. Recommendations from our staff are not a guarantee that fitment will be trouble free. APEX does not guarantee any fitment based on the opinions of its staff, dealer network, or fitment guides. Purchaser understands that there are numerous variables that can affect fitment that are not in APEX’s control such as ride height, tire profile shapes between brands and models, suspension alignment settings, body damage, and other aftermarket parts. Purchaser understands that the installation of wheels may require modification to their vehicle for proper fitment which may include the use of spacers and extended hardware, fender rolling, fender flaring, cutting or trimming liner material, and alignment adjustments. Even with modifications all rubbing may not be completely eliminated and the purchaser accepts occasional rubbing such as rubbing the inner fender liner at full lock to be normal.
FINISH WARRANTY: ONE YEAR
Except as specifically set forth below, APEX warrants that its wheels’ finishes will be free from peeling or lifting from the face of the wheel for a period of one year from the date of the purchaser’s purchase. APEX agrees, without charge, to repair or replace a wheel where the finish fails during this one-year limited warranty period because of defects in material or workmanship.
Customers are responsible for inspecting all new wheels prior to tire installation or vehicle use, as damage caused during installation or normal use will not be covered. This limited warranty does not cover scratches from normal wear and tear, chips caused by rocks and other road debris, or damage resulting from misuse, including but not limited to, curbing wheels, off-roading, improper maintenance or cleaning with chemical cleaners, damage from tire mounting and dismounting equipment, contact with potholes, or other road and track hazards, or staining from aggressive compound brake pads.[1] Damage such as paint chips to the center cap support area commonly occur during tire mounting/balancing when mishandled by a tire technician. Warranties for chips in this area are not covered if a tire has already been mounted on the wheel. Please inspect wheels upon arrival before installation for any issues. Wheels should be cleaned regularly with mild soap and water. A protective sealant is recommended.
Unpainted surfaces of the wheel such as the mounting pad, center bore, and knurled bead areas may oxidize, leaving a chalky finish as part of normal use. During product production, tape may be used to protect unpainted surfaces such as the bead area. Removal of this tape after the painting process may leave a jagged edge between the two surfaces which is a normal condition of the paint. If the edge causes paint to flake then it may be warranted only if the issue can be seen outside of an aesthetically insignificant area such as on a part of the barrel this is covered and hidden by a mounted tire. Raw castings and raw forging may be marked with symbols or other markings for tracking during production, which may remain visible on the final product or distorted in some way during production, such as those stamped into the back of the inner lip. These markings are normal. Small paint pops, dust, lint or hair may be present in the finish of the wheel. Paint pops that are the size of the tip on a ball point pen are considered normal. A speck of dust, lint or hair in a visually insignificant portion of the wheel once installed on a vehicle is considered normal if it does not adversely affect the function of the wheel. Paint pops that are larger than the tip of a ballpoint pen and any lint or hair that is longer than 2mm will only be warranted if they are on the front face or on the side of the spokes in a visually significant area of the wheel when installed on a vehicle.
DISCLAIMER:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APEX’S LIMITED STRUCTURAL WARRANTY AND LIMITED FINISH WARRANTY ARE ITS SOLE EXPRESS WARRANTIES TO ELIGIBLE PURCHASERS AND ARE GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED OR NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW.
APEX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR SPECIAL DAMAGES FOR ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OR FOR ANY EVENT, ACTIVITY OR HARM THAT MAY RESULT FROM THE USE OF ANY APEX PRODUCT. APEX’S LIABILITY AND THE PURCHASER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS LIMITED TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE WHEEL AS STATED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESSING:
All warranty claims are made using our online form. APEX requires 3 business days on average to respond a warranty request. The time needed to provide an RMA may be extended depending on the time customers take to respond to APEX’s requests. If all eligibility requirements are met, and all supportive information is accepted, purchasers will be notified of their approval and an RMA. If a warranty request is rejected for any reason by APEX, the requesting purchaser will be notified after the review is complete. APEX will inspect the returned wheel to confirm that the issue is as claimed, and that the wheel is the original purchased, and that all eligibility requirements are met. If a returned wheel is found ineligible for warranty coverage, it will be returned to the sender, without repair or replacement, at the sender’s expense.
